Over the past years, diverse groups of youth have been coming together to openly discuss, and practice, a timeless spiritual culture. The aim of the youth groups is to facilitate a forum whereby regular challenges and points of interest could be introduced from a rather unconventional Vedic perspective.
In this day and age youth specifically are faced with many challenges. Seeing these challenges as almost impossible to deal with, youth are turning to other alternatives to ease their pain and challenges. Unfortunately, youth today are simply feeding the fire of frustration by means of some temporary gratification in the form of intoxication, sex, violence and other means.
The need for a solid, stable and healthy support group has resulted in the formation of various youth groups to facilitate a forum whereby regular challenges and points of interest could be introduced and dealt with in innovative ways. Our youth started finding the most stable solution and answers to our problems through the teachings of the Vedas as presented by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.
The same teachings are presented but in a less formal environment. From structured inquiry to spontaneous skits the program offers a complete, yet innovative experience.
Kartik das, the leader of the Krishna Balarama Youth Group based in Johannesburg says that the fibers and DNA that forms this unique group is exuded by its philosophy: “It’s a culture of heart sharing!” These are not just sentimental words, but a philosophy of love, tolerance, humility and respect as we aid each other in the growth of our individual spiritual journeys. We have members from all walks of life, each contributing to the unique success of our mission.
